AREA FORUM/WARD GRANTS | |
Matter for Consideration: To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes. | |
Information: The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community. Parklands Area Forum has requested: (i) £1,211.23 to Grange Park Community Partnership as a donation to purchase two picnic benches, one with disabled access for the ecological area in Boundary Park. (ii)£5,000 to Layton Primary School PTFA as a donation for the cultivation of raised beds, to include a pond, and to purchase a greenhouse and sheds. Councillors Galley and Williams of Anchorsholme Ward have requested: (i) £1,595 for the purchase and installation of a new gate for the east entrance to Anchorsholme Park. (ii)£1,000 for the purchase and installation of five new litter bins for East Pines Park. (iii)£500 for the purchase and installation of two additional litter bins, one on Melbourne Avenue and one on Hobart Place. Councillors Clapham and H Mitchell of Bispham Ward have requested: (i) £1,000 to St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School as a contribution towards funding a minibus to take pupils on trips. (ii)£200 to The Friends of Cavendish Park as a contribution towards the purchase of a replacement notice board for the Park to help inform residents for the events to be held there. Councillors Taylor and Mrs Taylor of Claremont Ward have requested £445 to Claremont Park Community Centre for the purchase of equipment for a new youth facility at Claremont Park Community Centre. Councillors Mrs Greenhalgh and Hutton of Clifton Ward have requested £10,951.13 to fund two pedestrian crossings, one on Langdale Road and one on Clifton Road. Councillors Collett and Matthews of Tyldesley Ward have requested £508 as a contribution towards the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Division with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features together with Bloomfield Ward and Victoria Ward. Councillors Jackson and Owen of Victoria Ward have requested £508 as a contribution towards the purchase and installation of a Christmas Tree from the Illuminations Division with led/festoon lighting and Christmas features together with Bloomfield Ward and Tyldesley Ward. | |
